Injectable Therapies

The Leicester Diabetes Centre (LDC) launch Injectable Therapies Programme at Diabetes Professional Care (DPC) 2021

A new programme available for healthcare organisations to support people living with type 2 diabetes on Insulin or GLP-1 therapy will be launched at the DPC event on the 10th and 11th November at Olympia, London.

The Injectable Therapies Programme has been designed for people living with type 2 diabetes to have a better understanding of glycaemic control and increase knowledge and confidence to manage their diabetes.

The Injectable Therapies programme consists of four patient group sessions: one core session and three topic specific sessions.

For those who wish to offer the Injectable Therapies programme to their patients, this will mean:

  • Attending facilitator training – two-days for most, reduced to one-day if you/your staff are already trained in another LDC patient programme

  • Access to the Injectable Therapies digital portal that contains all the resources required to deliver the Injectable Therapies group sessions, either virtually or in-person.

Next steps:

If you are interested in offering the Injectable Therapies programme to your patients, please complete the form below for a bespoke quote and guidance for the next steps.

Recommendations to consider:

All patients would benefit from attending a diabetes structured education programme (such as DESMOND) before joining Injectable Therapies.

Groups should be delivered by two trained facilitators; at least one should be a registered Healthcare Professional.
